Carl Froch inspires Sakio Bika to give Anthony Dirrell a rematch

SAKIO BIKA will defend his WBC super-middleweight title for the second time against Anthony “The Dog” Dirrell in a August 16 rematch at the StubHub Center in Carson, California.

In December last year, Bika and Dirrell fought to an entertaining 12-round draw in Brooklyn, New York, and the champion said that Carl Froch’s recent defeat of nemesis George Groves inspired him to give Dirrell another chance.

“I was at Wembley in May to watch Carl Froch knock out George Groves,” said Bika. “I was impressed by the way Froch handled his unfinished business with George Groves and now I want to do the same with Dirrell.

“I felt I won the first fight with Dirrell and I’m happy my management team has been able to organise a rematch to show the world that I am the undisputed WBC champion.
