HERE we go again.
Floyd Mayweather.
Manny Pacquiao.
It has been reported on several websites that the pair will eventually collide in May 2015. Believe it when you see it is our advice, but according to the stories, a “source close to Floyd Mayweather Snr” has indicated Floyd Jnr wants the fight. The enormous financial gain has been advertised as Mayweather’s incentive, but the purse would always have been huge.
Mayweather has promised to surprise everyone when he announces his May opponent. He must first defeat Marcos Maidana again on September 13, while Pacquiao has the tricky, albeit unknown, Chris Algieri to beat on November 22. The optimists among us might suggest the opponents have styles to prepare the two leading names for each other, but their promotional ties remain the same. Mayweather is with Golden Boy; Pacquiao Top Rank.
These obstacles are nothing new and for the past six years have prevented them from settling their differences in the ring.
Miracles happen. But Mayweather vs Pacquiao superfights do not. Until now, perhaps.
