Ramirez is all potential over achievement thus far as a pro, but the potential is such that it would be remiss not include him. The Cuban won gold at the 2012 as a flyweight, then moved up to bantamweight to repeat the trick at the 2016 Games. He turns pro on August 10.
2. Claressa Shields
Since winning gold at both the 2012 and 2016 Olympics, Shields has turned pro, romped to nine straight wins and bagged WBC and IBF world titles as a super-middleweight, as well as WBA, WBC, IBF and WBO belts at middleweight.
3. Joshua Buatsi
British light-heavyweight champion Buatsi won a bronze medal at the 2016 Olympics and has so far won 11 pro fights in a row. In his last fight, the Ghanaian-born puncher stopped Marco Antonio Periban inside four rounds.
4. Shakur Stevenson
2016 Olympic silver medallist Stevenson has secured the perfect dozen so far as a pro and won an array of fringe titles. The skillful New Jersey fighter boasts victories over Viorel Simon, stopped inside a round, Jessie Cris Rosales and Christopher Diaz.
5. Katie Taylor
Taylor won gold at the 2012 Olympics but was upset in the quarter finals of the 2016 Games. Extremely popular in her native Ireland, she has taken her show on the road as a pro, winning her last four fights stateside and claiming WBA, WBC, IBF and WBO lightweight titles in the process.
6. Joe Joyce
Known as ‘The Juggernaut’, Joyce was a silver medallist at the 2016 Olympics, losing a close one to Tony Yoka in the final. Since turning pro, he has surpassed Yoka with wins against the likes of Bryant Jennings, Bermane Stiverne and Alexander Ustinov.
7. Filip Hrgovic
Hrgovic, a six-foot-six Croatian, scored bronze at the 2016 Olympics before turning professional the following year. In an eight-fight pro career he has outscored Kevin Johnson and stopped both Gregory Cobin and Amir Mansour.
8. Michael Conlan
As popular in America as he is in his native Ireland, Conlan rose to prominence in 2016 when a quarter-final defeat to Vladimir Nikitin at the Olympics Games caused outrage and a middle-finger salute. Now a pro, Conlan made his debut at Madison Square Garden and has won 11 fights on the spin.
9. Daniyar Yeleussinov
A gifted Kazakh with all the tools at his disposal, Yeleussinov has so far blown hot and cold as a pro. He is undefeated in seven fights but has yet to show the quality that, as an amateur, led him to gold medals at the 2016 Olympics and the 2013 World Championships.
10. Tony Yoka
Though he grabbed the gold medal at the 2016 Olympics, Yoka’s pro career has so far been blighted by inactivity and question marks surrounding drug tests. The fleet-footed Frenchman is unbeaten in six fights and recently stopped Alexander Dimitrenko inside three rounds.
